Are you literally ALWAYS hungry?

  1. Eat enough greens/minerals: I’ve talked about this a lot but you would be surprised how much volume and how filling veggies can be. Plus, mineral rich foods can be really filling for a low calorie count. Not to mention minerals are SO good for you!:)
  2. Eat enough fiber: Fiber is very filling that’s why oatmeal is going to more filling than snickers or oat bran is more filling than oatmeal. Try increasing your fiber slowly and see how you feel.
  3. Sugar Balance: Eating to much sugary foods (even fruits) can make you crave more sugar but on the other token if you don’t eat enough sugar in your diet it can lead to lots of cravings. So just take a glance at your intake now and evaluate:)
  4. Is your diet working for you?: Sometimes to find a diet that fits with your taste buds and lifestyle choices you have to experiment. Do you like your food? Are you eating too much or too little? So many factors to look at, which is why there are like a million different diets out there.
  5. Intermittent Fasting: If you don’t have a history of food issues you can try intermittent fasting. It’s definitely not for everyone but it shortens your eating time but it allows you to eat more just in a shorter time.
  6. Cravings: Are you really craving certain foods. Maybe you need to just give in. Sometimes having that cookie or whatever it is will satisfy in a way no other food can. On the other hand is there a substitute you can make. Acknowledging your hunger and cravings will really help your satisfaction:)
  7. Not a Good Balance of Macros: If you eat to much or to little of something this can drastically affect your hunger. Try switching around the types of foods you are eating and see if that helps (i.e. more/less protein, more/less carbs, etc.).
  8. Calorie Restricting: If you don’t eat enough or set goals that are to tough right now you really can set yourself up for insatiable hunger or binges later on.
  9. Healthy Weight: If you aren’t at a healthy weight your body may increase your hunger drive to protect you and bring you back into balance. Being at healthy weight, especially as a female, is very important.

I hope this helps! I know first hand how tough this can be and these tips helped me. I was just coming out of being very sick and underweight and couldn’t get full no matter how much I had.
Emotions can also play a huge roll in this so I will do a follow up post on that:)
Have a GREAT day!

How to: Naturally Whiten your Teeth While Increasing the Health of your Mouth (Lots!)

Hey guys!

Today I wanted to do a video on 12 ways to whiten your teeth naturally without spending a bunch of money and ingesting a lot of chemicals. Some of these are more common sense but I wanted to include them as reminders!!!!;)

1. Essential Oxygen Hydrogen Peroxide Rinse: This stuff has made such a difference for me. The hydrogen peroxide has totally cleaned and whitened my teeth dramatically.

2. Tumeric Paste: I use this daily and will switch this to every other day once my mouth is at the health and whiteness I want to be. Take 1 tbs. turmeric powder and mix with a little water to make a paste. Then, use a SEPERATE toothbrush to brush your teeth. The toothbrush will stain but it’s okay, that is why you use a separate one. Then, you will brush teeth and use your rinse AFTER. This seems weird but it really helps!

3. Oil Pulling: Take a sesame or coconut oil and swish in your mouth for 20 minutes then SPIT IT OUT. I know this seems crazy but it has SO many health benefits. I will link more information: here.

4. Floss and Brush your Teeth 2x a Day: Come on guys 2X A DAY!;)

5. Tounge Scraping: People neglect cleaning their tounge, but a simple tounge scraping in the AM could take care of that.

6. Watch Your Diet (Sugar, Wine, Coffee): Eating a ton of sugar can really hurt your teeth and if you eat something sugary try eating something low sugar with it and wash your teeth after. Also, remember that wine and coffee can stain your teeth so be aware of your intake of these things.

 7. Alkaline Diet: If you are too acidic your body can stat taking calcium from your bones. Extremely bad news for your teeth.

8. Eat Enough/ Prevent Osteoporosis: If you don’t eat enough you can develop osteoporosis which will REALLY affect your teeth long term. This is why dentists are usually one of the first people to find eating disorders.

9. Fun Fact: Strawberries are natural teeth whitener because they contain malic acid which is a enamel whitener so eat up!

How to Not Feel Restricted on a Healthy Lifestlye.

I talked about how to make a diet your own here and today I wanted to follow it up with tips on how to not feel restricted on a healthy lifestyle.

When you follow a specific boring plan it can definitely feel restricting. Some people fall off and now some people go it IIFYM which is okay, but some people don’t want to eat processed foods and then counting macros becomes a lot of work. That is where, hopefully, some of these tips come in to help out:

1. Add Super foods: You’d be amazed at the difference this can make it making your healthy lifestyle more fun. The only thing is only if super foods are in your budget at the moment, you can get good deals though. It can easily transform your berry smoothie into acai bowl or your normal apple at lunch to a handful of delicious mulberries. I love doing this with my diet all the time.

2. Add Toppings: Instead of drinking your green drink put it in a bowl and add coconut flour, coconut shreds, and dried fruit. BOOM! If your doing a “boring” salad every day add toppings or make your dressing. It really makes it all so much better.

3. (Sweet tooth People) Don’t be afraid to make your meals dessert. Instead of having tofu and broccoli, make a tofu chocolate pudding with cucumber slices for dipping or instead of a salad with a tomato based dressing make your salad with greens, dried and fresh fruit with a mango based dressing.

4. (Savory People) Keep spices on hand. Take your steamed veggies add nutritional yeast, garlic, and real salt. Bam, pizza veggies. Instead of fruit based smoothies, make creamy veggie soups like cucumber avocado soup or tomato soup with hemp seeds and chia seeds.

5. Make Subsitutes: You can google and find a substitute for anything. Banana ice cream vs. Regular Ice cream, Mulberry Blueberry vs. Regular cereal, and so on. So many great ideas.

I hope this helps you stay on your journey!

Green Juice as SkinCare

Hey guys! Today I wanted to come at you with a recipe which I know everyone loves.

I also wanted to say how amazing green juice can be for your skin. Carrots give you a hefty dose of beta-carotene which gives your skin a tan glow look, and beets which give your skin a beautiful color. The high dose of alkalinity and deep leafy greens give you a large dose of minerals which nourishes the skin.

So as great as skin products are (and I do love skin products!) never neglect the power of working from the inside out😊.

Skincare Juice:

~5 Carrots

~1 Lemon (with Skin)

~1 Head Argula

~1 Inch Tumeric

~2 Small Cucumbers

Run through your juicer, and add some stevia to sweeten it up and make it taste good. Also you can add green powder such as Garden of Life Perfect Food or Healthforce Vitamineral Green, which I do, to add extra greens and nutrition.

What foods do you include in your diet for glowing healthy skin?

Enjoy!!!!

5 Ways to Cleanse Your Liver Daily

Ahhh, your liver.

That hard working little organ does SO much for you. It’s the reason all the toxic crap-ola doesn’t hurt you all the time. Too many of us are doing things that hurt the livers abilities to do its job (detox and much more). Also, if your not detoxing your skin will probably not be clear. If your support your liver you will definitely notice a difference in your skin as well.

Here are five ways to daily help out your liver:

1. Take a liver support supplement.  BY FAR my favorite is Healthforce Liver 5+. Very high quality and all herbal.

2. Eat a healthy amount of fat. I don’t mean restrict it but eat plant based fats and eat it in portion size.

3. Exercise, saunas, steam rooms…. Sweat, get other methods of detox working.

4. Drink liver support teas and herbal drinks made with milk thistle, dandelion, etc.

5. Lastly, eat more dandelion. I know it’s reallyy bitter but you totally get used to it. Juice it, blend it, massage it with olive oil/sea salt/ avocado. Last tip for dandelion is just use a little bit at a time.

I hope this helps!

What do you do daily to support your liver? ❤️❤️❤️💋

DIY Mask

I wanted to come at you today with a quick do it yourself mask. Sorry I don’t have pictures of me with a green face😜.

DIY Mask:

~1 avocado

~Squeeze juice of one orange

~Tbs. Hemp oil.

Let it sit on your face for 20-30 minutes. Then wash it off.

Your skin in gonna feel soooo soft!

What’s your favorite DIY mask?

Plant Based Calcium: Follow up to post on Bone/Teeth Post

In follow up to the post on keeping up the health of your bones and teeth I wanted to provide 20 sources of calcium on a plant based lifestyle. ❤

1. Kale (1 cup-180mg): Make kale chips…Recipe coming soon;)

2. Collard Greens (1 cup-350 mg): Try to cook it in some coconut oil or juice it.

3. Blackstrap Molasses (2 Tbs-400mg): This stuff is amazing and is also a great source of so many minerals. Loni Jane is a huge fan. I would have it in the morning with some sort of citrus to get the iron benefits as well.

4. Tempeh (1c-215mg): This stuff is great in a stir fry.

5. Turnip Greens (1c-250mg): I would juice these.

6. Non-Dairy Milk (1c-200 to 300mg): I LOVEEEE this stuff. I use it with anything.

7. Tahini (1c-130mg): Use as a salad dressing. It is really good, but bitter I would combine it with lemon.

8. Great Northern Beans(1c-120mg): I would put it in a salad or stir fry.

9. Broccoli (1c-95mg): Steamed with a dash of olive oil and sea salt, mmmm.

10. Dates (1/2c-35mg): So tasty and super sweet, use them any which way.

There is so many more, but I wanted to highlight a few and give some ideas how to use them.

What’s your favorite on the list?

Have a great day guys! ❤ ❤ ❤
